Your creative play list would include…

When are you the most creative?
When I’m alone on my couch in the middle of a huge mess watching Gilmore Girls
Anyone in particular you are dying to work with? Why?
Poppies and Posies, a florist in New York. I love the whimsy that they bring to their flowers and would love to work with them on a wedding one day.

Where do you go for inspiration?
I go everywhere! Blogs, books, magazines, my craft closet or my friends’ houses, and of course I can’t forget Target
How did you get started in the industry?
Since I was little, I’ve always had a thing for weddings and making stuff. I received my BFA in graphic design and from there started my own letterpress paper goods business. When it came time for my wedding, 3 years ago, I did all of the design and from there my amazing wedding photographers, Our Labor of Love, have helped me tremendously to get my name out into the wedding word. I started collaborating with Emily from Once Wed and created DIY projects and inspirations shoots for her monthly Design*Sponge column.
Any new creations you are dying to use for an upcoming event or weddings?
Always

Describe your ideal client.
I love clients that allow me have complete creative control over the whole wedding, not just one or two elements. I love brides that are crafty as well and want to help with the process.
What advice would you give to photographers who want to step out side the box and find more creative type clients?
You know, the ones who want unique decor and creative styling of an artist like you. If you see someone that you’d like to work with, then send over an email! Don’t be afraid to reach out. I love meeting new people and especially working with others that are outside the wedding industry.
As a designer/artist, what attracts you to a certain type of photographer?
My favorite photograph from our wedding was one of us walking through the grass and it feels so magical with my hoop skirt and red shoes popping out. It seems that I’m always attracted to the mood that the photo gives off and the unexpected shot from the day that sums up everything!
